All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi and University College London (UCL) have jointly started a new project. The objective of this project is to bring innovation (new technology or solution) in the field of medical technology, so that solutions to diseases can be found.

On November 22, 2024, AIIMS New Delhi, IIT Delhi and UCL have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), under which the three institutions will partner in research and innovation. Through this partnership, these institutes will work on developing multidisciplinary technology solutions by leveraging their industry contacts and resources. The main objective of this partnership is to bring innovation in various areas of medical technology, especially in the areas of diagnostics and imaging, medical devices and implants, assistive technologies, digital health, artificial intelligence, machine learning, quantum technology, surgical and treatment interventions and sensor technologies. In.

Professor Alok Thakur, Head of the Center for Medical Innovation and Entrepreneurship, AIIMS, said, “This trilateral partnership will prove to be a major step forward in addressing health and social challenges.
