A surprising case has come to light from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh. Here DM Jitendra Pratap Singh was given ‘Bilseri’ water bottle instead of ‘Bisleri’ water bottle. The District Magistrate was surprised to see this. After this, DM took strict action against those selling fake drinking water and food products in Baghpat.
Actually, Baghpat DM Jitendra Pratap Singh and Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya reached the border police post of the district, Niwada, after the Baghpat Tehsil Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas. Then a water bottle was given on the table in front of the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police. DM was surprised to see the water bottle. It was not a water bottle of any Bisleri company but of ‘Bilseri’, on which the food license number was not even written.

It appeared to be a complete copy of the original brand and illegal. The District Magistrate immediately called the Food Safety Department at the police post Niwada and instructed to check the purity of the water. Assistant Food Safety Commissioner Manvendra Singh inquired from Nivada police post about the water named Bilseri from where the water bottle was taken. In which the concerned police told that it was purchased from a shop in Gauripur.
Was supplying fake brand water
On reaching the shop, it was found that shopkeeper Bhim Singh had kept a warehouse of water bottles in his house without a license and was supplying fake brand water to other shops in the district, which also did not have any license. Assistant Food Safety Commissioner Manvendra Singh took possession of 2663 water bottles and investigated them and found that the water bottles were imitations of genuine Bisleri brands like Bilseri, Bislari and Bisleri etc.

Bulldozer ran on 2 thousand 663 bottles
The name was printed in green on the label of the bottle. Which was being sold in the name of the real brand by misleading the general public. On which the Food Safety Department team collected water samples and sent them to the laboratory. Also, 2 thousand 663 bottles found on the spot were immediately destroyed by using bulldozers. Also, due to the warehouse not having a license, a challan was made and a case was filed in the Honorable Court and the warehouse was closed with immediate effect, instructions were given to operate it only after obtaining the license.
Supply was being done from Haryana
At the same time, on interrogating Bhim Singh, it was found that fake brand water bottles are supplied from Haryana to other shops in Baghpat district. In this regard, the District Magistrate has formed a team and given instructions for action. He said that no counterfeit food and beverages should be sold to the general public in the name of original brands and if anyone is found selling, strict action will be taken against him.
DM said this in the matter
The DM has also directed that hotels selling old vegetables on a large scale and selling colors mixed in chutney should be identified and strict action should be taken against them. Taking this situation seriously, the District Magistrate has instructed the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department to investigate all such establishments operating in the district which are selling fake goods by copying branded products. In this regard, the District Magistrate said, the sale of fake products is not only cheating the customers, but it is also playing with their health. Strict action has been taken in such cases, so that the sale of counterfeit goods can be stopped from the market.
